Ricky Pollard is dedicated to building a safer, stronger, and more accountable Shelby County. With over 20 years serving our community and a lifelong commitment to public safety, Ricky’s leadership is rooted in experience, transparency, and genuine connection to the people of Shelby County.

· Experienced Leadership: Over two decades with the Shelby County Sheriff's Office, focused on reducing violent crime through enforcement and strategic partnerships.
· Jail Safety & Reform: Committed to increased staffing, enhanced training, and modernized mental health services in our county jail.

Ricky’s Platform
· Target repeat violent offenders and illegal firearms to make neighborhoods safer.
· Strengthen partnerships with nonprofits for job training and education to reduce recidivism.
· Partner with licensed mental health facilities to provide on-site professional care for inmates.
· Recruit and retain deputies with competitive pay, expanded training, and better overtime management.
· Implement department-wide de-escalation policies and require regular, mandatory training for all deputies.
· Host public briefings and town halls for transparency and empowerment.

To protect the people of Shelby County by reducing violent crime, supporting lawful and accountable enforcement at every level, operating a safe and constitutional jail, and leading the Sheriff’s Office with professionalism, transparency, and respect for the rule of law.
VISION STATEMENT
A safer Shelby County where violent crime is reduced, opportunity replaces cycles of poverty, deputies are properly trained and supported, the jail provides secure and professional care—including mental health services—and the law is enforced fairly and equally, with no one above it.
